ADT take on the DBC course

ADT get their back into manual handling training across six states!

WFR has successfully assisted ADT Security Services in attentioning the company’s reoccurring injuries across Australia.

With ADT being the world’s largest provider of electronic security solutions, servicing over 8 million homes and businesses, it’s no wonder investment in their staff’s well-being is essential.  Due to the demanding nature of installing security systems and the awkward areas in which employees have to work, injuries were becoming more frequent.  Incorrect lifting methods was identified as the main cause of their injuries hence WFR was approached about its Dynamic Back Care course, which focuses on minimising back injuries caused by manual handling and poor posture.

The Dynamic Back Care course is an injury prevention program customised to meet the needs of the client and the industry.  Each component of the workshop is highly practical and functional, with participants gaining education, awareness and self-help tools.  The course focuses on topics such as manual handling, posture, spinal anatomy and the lifestyle impacts of a back injury.

The Dynamic Back Care course for ADT was delivered over six states with a total participation of 99 employees. ADT’s National EHS Manager, Vicki Yangoyan, was impressed with the program.
“The WFR manual handling training project was planned and delivered exceptionally well by a professional team of consultants,” she said.
The training was received with overwhelming positive feedback from across the business nationally, with particular reference to the manual handling practical component, which was most relevant and useful to our operations.
No doubt, in time this program will deliver further benefits by reducing our most common cause of injuries - manual handling.”

The course is not only designed to educate participants on correct lifting techniques but also enables them to understand how an injury can occur and the implications of that injury.
